My goal

My goal for this trip is not to let anything get in the way of me learning or attempting something new, whether it is trying a new food, meeting a new type a person, or partaking in a new kind of activity; I will not be stopped by petty circumstances or thoughts

My Top Ten Reasons To Study Abroad

1. Studying abroad is a life-altering experience!

I am super excited to see how this trip will impact me and my views of the world. I bought a few books on Italian culture and language and I am thrilled to finally be able to dive into them

2. Learn about yourself and gain independence.

Living on my own in a new country is going to be an incredible accomplishment that will show me what I am fully made of

3. Gain perspective on your own country and culture.

This trip will show me how a new part of the world lives. I cant wait to see and smell and taste the food and drink over there.

4. Learn a language in the country where it is spoken.

Learning italian is fun!. I already know more than I thought!!!

5. Resume builder.

Going on a trip like this shows I am willing to take chances and enter and complete a difficult program

6. Programs work with any academic program.
It is great to have a chance to do this and still get school credit!

7. Experience unique academic structures.

New professors, new classmates, new classrooms, all new and exciting

8. See the world (or at least a part of it). I am young only once. Soon I will be entering the work force and wont have another opportunity to travel like this again

9. Make connections that can last a lifetime.
I am confident I am going to make some amazing friends from UD as well as other universitys and hopefully some Italian pen pals

10. Because I can
I am blessed to have such an amazing opportunity to go to another country for a month to study and learn everything I can.

In the beginning

This is my first blog. I am 21 years old and a student at the University of Dayton. I am studying Electrical Engineering and in my junior year. I am a member of IEEE and play defense for Dayton's Lacrosse team. This summer I will be going to Rome and writing in this blog daily.
