what makes value? it is how something makes us feel? how well it can achieve a job or task? who determines how well something is done? does a pen do a better job writing a letter than a pencil? a crayon? a piece of chalk?
I think Value is relative to the situation in which something is in question. chalk has a higher value when the writing surface is a blackboard, but less value when the surface is a piece of loose leaf. Is this a generally understood value? I think yes but why? who made it that way. is it because it truly does a better job creating and conveying a message we are trying to write on the surface, assuming that is our intent.
I believe value is ingrained in us as we grow from young saplings into knowledgeable wise oaks that throw acorns at squirrels.
